Greetings everyone! My fiance and I are getting married in Boston on the 20th of July and I am I looking for suggestions regarding where we should go to party and have fun in the Boston area. We are all about good beer and friendly atmospheres. Live music in the Irish or acoustic vein would be good.

We are actually arriving on the 14th and will leave on the 22nd, so we will have many evenings where we will be looking for places to hang out and meet some new people. We would love to find a group of people to bar hop with or just hang out with any of the evenings we are in town.

illegal interview questions

An employer asked me if I had my family yet. My mind realed. Either way it was none of their business I thought. Travel. Overtime. Health insurance. I suppose there are concerns but I'm sure they aren't allowed to discriminate.

I said "I don't know if you can legally ask me that".

He said it was about compensation and they wanted to ensure it was enough. I said I was aware of the package.

new bostonian job hunting/ networking advice sought

i'm interested if you have any boston professional
connections or any advice on my job hunting approach.
this search still seems a bit shotgun.

so i'm doing what i can. the first thing seems to be
to target an occupation or a company. i'm going for
the raytheon technical trainer angle. though have
applied to some other positions in marketing and
admin.

i've also got an interview for 'mad science' a science teaching
place that makes science fun and does birthday
parties. doesn't pay great, but at least would give me
some current teaching experience.

i also have some spokesmodel kind of demos, i find in
sf that was on of the most consistent fun jobs, but
again not paying too well. only $25 an hour tops, but
they were calling me to manage events.

i was working for FEMA, but that stuff is on the back burner as it's just oncall. i am trying to register with another company as well but they have no
scheduled trainings.

otherwise, i've been using linkedin.com to find some
contacts at raytheon, elsevere science an english

boston business journal part of the chain i worked for
in san jose, an instructional designer, and some
recruiters.

i found out i *didn't* get the customer service
rep job at christopher's company that i flew out for the interview for.

anyway, so i guess the long and short of it is that if
you have any advice. (besides learning how to
capitalize.) i've taken tons of those career assesment
things, i am just looking for a darned job.

i can sit in front of a computer screen for hours. i have a few girlfriends
who can't go corporate after now having their own
businesses. i can suck up like nobody's business. ;)

i am going to register a domain name. the problem has
been that creativecommunications that i was using is
taken by a church group. ugh. so i'm going to go with
michellecadieux.com until i think of something more
clever. all the files need to be edited, there are
some broken links. wulff suggests taking the mba off
stuff and not overselling myself, i'm trying to look
like i do everything.
